Reflecting on 2024.

For many of us, it seems that 2024 was a tumultuous year full of many ups and downs. For me, that was staring fatherhood in the eye and imagining a future where music couldn’t be my primary focus, and also dealing with deception and betrayal on levels I would have never expected. By the grace of God, I ended this year NOT as a father and unfortunately a lot wiser due to my encounter, which has now given me a new appreciation for life and the gift of creating music that I have been given. While I am no guru or mastermind of any kind, this is the advice I would give to anyone: Always trust your gut and never take your gifts for granted because they can easily be taken away.

In the midst of thinking I was becoming a father, I was forced to work jobs I had no business at, underwent harassment and verbal abuse, and tolerated much more no one in their right mind should have to. Of course, I can’t pass all the blame because I knew better than to put myself in such a predicament, but i do know I will do everything in my power to never be in that kind of situation again. Take it from me, put yourself and the things you are passionate about first and worry about the rest later. Had I minded my business and been focused like I was supposed to be, you wouldn’t even be reading this right now.

On the flip side of this coin, however, it is this situation that became the basis for much of my recent project “The Redeye Jones Show”, which I can confidently say is my best and most cohesive work to date. God works in mysterious ways I suppose, especially for artists like me who use their experiences to inspire their creative process. So on one hand, fuck 2024. With a very hard drawn out F. On the other, I have to say thank you because this year provided me lessons and music that will now be part of my life forever. I just really hope 2025 comes in here and acts like it has some damn sense.

when we don’t follow directions we often find ourselves walking straight off a cliff. of course, every fall won’t kill. it’s the limp home that makes you truly realize your faults, though. but you just had to be defiant, right? now, if you love this thrill so much, can you tell me why? real life ain’t got enough trouble anymore, i guess. in reality, these thoughts will be gone in a few minutes and you will go back to your regularly scheduled program. i just hope they’ll be somewhere in the back of your mind when you need it most.

Nothing is really new. The Redeye Jones Show is out -AS YOU SAW ON THE HOME PAGE AND CHOSE TO IGNORE- . Teleport is out after a whole year and like 70 different mixes, so I’m probably gonna hibernate for the winter and just promote that for a while. That being said Happy GHOE, Happy Halloween, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year. The next time you see me, things are going to be very different. Stay tuned and stay groovy, folks.

Have you ever argued with a friend about something you KNEW you were right about, and after a quick Google search they had no choice but to admit defeat? That’s how I’ve been feeling for a few weeks now. Though I want to say more about what I am speaking about now, you will have to wait to hear “The Redeye Jones Show” to get the full story. All that matters is that I am free and I have been vindicated. Best believe y’all still gon hear my mouth about it though.

PSA: Mixtape coming soon

After a brief hiatus from the outside world, I am proud to say my next mixtape “The Redeye Jones Show” is complete. This project was inspired by some real events that took place over the course of the past year, along with my love for cinema and satire that will be evident in the skits throughout . With this project, I hope to leave listeners with a more clear and complete picture of who Redeye Jones is as we take a deep dive into his mind. More information will be coming in the next few weeks. Until then, stay tuned and stay woke.

The road less travelled

there comes a time in a man’s life where he must go against the grain, even when it’s not the most popular choice. today is that day for me. if we continue to stand by and accept the status quo, it will never change and genuine art will go unappreciated as the disingenuous are celebrated. i have a duty to be a champion for hip-hop, an art form that has been polluted with perpetrators and artists making music with the wrong intentions. it’s time to call them out and show them what this art form is supposed be. the truth hurts, but somebody has to say it.

The State of the Union

for a while now, much of mainstream music has been missing…something. though many young people roll their eyes hearing older folks say “they don’t make music like they used to”, this is simply the truth. in a generation that prioritizes “looking” the part over actually being great artists, it seems to be hard to find artists that genuinely love and respect the craft. i, redeye jones, am the solution to that problem. i may not wow you with flashy visuals, chains and designer clothes (yet) but i will amaze you with my attention to detail and undying dedication to becoming one of the greatest artists of my time. if you’re reading this, you’re early. let’s enjoy this ride together.
